GetMyCollege

Built for serious college research

About GetMyCollege

GetMyCollege helps students make better admission decisions by combining college information, course details, fee ranges, cutoffs, rankings, placements and practical comparison tools in one place.

Our goal is simple: make college research less confusing. Students should be able to understand courses, fees, cutoffs, rankings, placements, scholarships and student sentiment in one well-organized place.

Data Promise

Accuracy first. Students first.

We do not want to be just another directory. We are building a decision layer where every important detail has context and a clear purpose.

4,000+ colleges

Organized for quick student comparison.

Research-led

Designed around how students actually compare colleges.

Student-first

Facts and student opinions are shown carefully.

Easy to improve

Important pages can be updated as new details arrive.

How our data is collected

A cleaner data pipeline for college decisions

College information can vary across rankings, counselling notices, fee pages and cutoff lists. We organize those details so students can compare colleges more clearly.

Official-first collection

We start from official college websites, counselling notices, admission brochures, exam authorities, ranking bodies and publicly available institutional documents.

Clean college mapping

Courses, fees, cutoffs, rankings and placement rows are connected carefully so each college page stays consistent as the database grows.

Human review

Important fields such as admission dates, fees, cutoff values, ranking claims and placement numbers are checked carefully before major updates.

Student discussion context

Student discussions from open communities such as Reddit are used only as extra context. They are never treated as admission rules or official facts.

What makes us different?

Most college pages online repeat the same brochure-style text. GetMyCollege is designed around decision-making: fees, ROI, cutoff reality, rankings, placement signals, scholarships and student discussions.

Editorial standard

If a detail is unclear, it should not be shown as a confirmed fact. That keeps the website useful for students and trustworthy over time.

Our publishing principles

No paid ranking manipulation in college pages.

Clear distinction between college facts and student opinion.

Mobile-first pages because most students research on phones.

Fast, crawlable pages with clean headings, metadata and internal links.

Student-friendly explanations instead of confusing brochure language.

Update policy: college articles can be updated by the content team, so important pages can be improved when new details are available.

Missing data policy

If a data point is missing, we research it before improving the article.

Missing fees, package figures, rankings, cutoffs, scholarships and logos are tracked so important college pages can be improved first.

Important: we do not fill gaps with random claims. Article updates should be supported by college pages, brochures, counselling authorities, ranking bodies or useful student discussions.

Logo and visual identity

Every college page has a visual logo space.

The platform uses a consistent logo space for every college so pages stay clean and easy to scan. For IITs, NITs, IIITs, AIIMS and other priority colleges, official logos can be added after review and then used across college pages, listing pages and homepage cards.

Workflow: save approved logo file → run logo import command → commit in GitHub Desktop → Vercel redeploys.
